The Life Cycle of Oil and Gas

This workshop is an overview of an in-depth, seven-week class taught in the Global Energy Management course. It provides a layman's look into the oil and gas industry from a high level perspective. We will explore the roles of geology, land, and engineering and how the different disciplines come together in the exploration and development of oil and gas.
This workshop is designed to give the Division Order Analyst a better understanding of the various disciplines and how they relate to the DO role in an oil and gas company. There will also be a brief discussion of some of the issues facing our industry in today's environment.

Lisa Hamil, CPL is currently a Land Negotiator in the DJ Basin for Encana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. She has over 30 years of experience in both land and land administration. She was a Land Development Advisor for Encana’s New Grad program for four years and developed and taught many of the land and land administration courses for both new grads and existing personnel.
She has worked in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, North Dakota, Wyoming, Utah and the Piceance Basin. She currently teaches the “Life Cycle of Oil and Natural Gas” Certificate Program through the Global Energy Management Program at the University of Colorado at Denver. She also serves on the Board of the Denver Petroleum Club and is an active member of the Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen.
