Please join us for a half-day seminar geared toward beginner to intermediate analysts. We will examine the various types of title opinions; go through sample opinions to learn what an opinion is comprised of, how interest calculations are determined by the title attorney and how to verify they are correct.

"The Title Opinion Revealed" presentation will be taught by E. Leanne Hayes of Venoco, Inc. She will discuss what should be included in the opinion and how you can use that information to confidently set up a Division of Interest. You will be taught the process of reviewing the various comments. You will practice setting up a requirements spreadsheet while being given ideas on how to handle requirements and curative. You will also learn how to verify the opinion by reviewing leases, contracts and other files.

"Understanding Title Opinion Calculations" taught by Janet Taylor of EnerPlus Resources will teach you how the WI, RI and ORRI calculations are figured as well as show you how to verify that the interests in the opinion are correct. This session will cover acreage and mineral interest calculations and also provide hands-on time for calculation exercises.
