Taylor will discuss components often encountered when reviewing the DOTO and how the components impact both Lease and DO Analysts.

Taylor Hindes began her interest in the oil and gas industry while completing her BA in Professional Land and Resource Management from Western Colorado University. She then started her career as a Land Administration Intern with QEP Resources, Inc in 2013 where she worked on the creation of a process for capturing royalty deduct language relative to the most recent acquisition. Upon completion of her internship, she was hired as a Senior DO Analyst working North Dakota operated and surrounding states non-operated assets.  After becoming the Supervisor of the group, she was promoted to the DO Manager of Southern Region in 2015. For over 5 years, she worked on numerous projects inclusive of properties spanning across many of the lower 48 oil and gas producing states.  During this time, she also pursued her Master of Energy Business at the University of Tulsa, which she completed in May of 2016.

While working at QEP, Taylor was part of the conversion from Excalibur to Quorum and SAP which was followed soon after by the conversion from Quorum to PRA.  On this project she was the dedicated resource representing the Land Administration department leading the team through design, testing, and implementation. After go-live, she continued as the liaison between IT and DO for all system related issues and enhancements in her new role as the DO Manager of Special Projects.  In 2018, she moved into the position of Land Special Projects Manager to work with Geology, Reserves, Accounting, and Due Diligence teams as QEP began to divest all non-core assets.

Taylor then stepped into a Systems Analyst role with PDC Energy Inc. working on behalf of the DO department for their system migration from BOLO to SAP/PRA.  During her time at PDC, she wrote design documents for needed enhancements while working with developers to test and implement.  Following PDC, she went to Tap Rock Resources, LLC where she is currently the Land Administration Manager.   In this role, she has been able to grow her skillset in writing reports and app design to create efficiencies within the Land Administration and Accounting processes.

Outside of work, she is the mother of 3 beautiful children who loves to travel and is the Board President of the Shane Thurston Foundation, which was started in February of 2019 to help provide children with access to educational programs to promote positive mental health.
