Welcome to our WebsiteDADOA NEWS January 4, 2024 Let’s all get a good footing as we jump start 2024. DADOA is planning to have at least one seminar and up to 3 luncheons this year. If you have not renewed your membership, please renew by January 15. The reduced registration rate of $25 should be affordable for those without company support. If you do not renew by January 15, you will need to start the membership application from the beginning. (Payment is due soon after but you can register and pay later) I would like to acknowledge the leaders who have kept DADOA up and running for the past 5 years. Special thanks to Leslie Jayne, Allison Blancett, Liz Olds, Wendy Hopkins, Linda Osminer, Alicia Padilla, Erica Sandoval, Kristina Gor, Troy Alsobrook, Renae Ludrick, and Evelyn Kastner. Without their tireless efforts, we would not have been able to host any luncheons or seminars. The membership numbers and the participation in events these past 5 years has declined for many reasons: Covid, remote work, mergers of local companies into out of state companies and unfortunately lack of member volunteers and company support. For this reason, the DADOA Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to dissolve the organization after 2024. We plan to host events that honor our members with reduced or free registrations and some members only door prizes at events. (And maybe even one last luncheon at Maggiano’s for old times’ sake.) We will continue to provide top quality speakers in 2024. When DADOA was formed there was a great need for education and networking. Now, more experienced analysts do not feel the need for continuing education and the newer analysts have not embraced DADOA as a source of information and education. When new plays were discovered, DADOA was the frontrunner in seminars and luncheons on these topics. With the Permian Basin and New Mexico now being the “basins of choice”, we find that local speakers do not have the expertise to cover this topic. Topics on Colorado, Wyoming, the Marcellus, and Federal lands are not in demand like they used to be. In 2025, I encourage you to join NADOA or a local association in Midland, Houston, or the Dallas/Fort Worth areas to take advantage of their online newsmagazine articles and webinars. NADOA will start holding regional seminars in areas without local associations, so you will have educational opportunities locally. The DAPL has some great luncheons and speakers to take advantage of and DALTA may also have events. It has been my pleasure to serve DADOA in many capacities and I greatly appreciate all the support the division order community has given DADOA and the board over the years. Things will be slow the first quarter of 2024 with an anticipated birth in February and a serious surgery for myself on January 24th. Once I am back on my feet, DADOA will announce the first luncheon and topic. We, the Board appreciate the support you will give us by attending events in 2024 before we close the book on DADOA.
